Spring is here

..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................,.........

Work Room chat:
I just realized that it's April's Fool today and was wondering if I should pull the I'm not blogging anymore prank and I don't even need to think twice to decide not to. Hahah.... THAT's just lame..... too lame for my style. LOL... =P

..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................,.........

I've arrived in Nottingham three days ago, 2 hours of flight delay before I finally landed on Sunday 29th in the morning 2 degrees! And I almost had a shock because it's supposed to be spring already..... -____-

But weather picked up thereafter. Temperature has then been more than 10 degrees since and we even get the occasional sun. Aaaahhh.... spring is indeed here. :)

This is my second visit to the UK actually. The first was 10 years ago during winter and I really hated the cold then. Well, I still don't like the cold now but the cold during Spring is much more bearable. Erm, I think the spring here feels like the winter in Melbourne.

Anyway, enough of me blabbing about the weather already.

Haven't actually got the chance to work on any jewellery making since my arrival. I was still experiencing from jet lag for the first 2 days of my arrival. Feeling very sleepy already by 5 or 6 pm here since it is way past midnight Malaysian time already but my body had since started to adjust to the time.

LOL....my apology, another digression there. Well, it's been a while already since I traveled overseas. My last trip abroad was 6 years ago to Melbourne. :)

Right, back to the main point. I don't think I'll be able to work on any jewellery making for the next one, two weeks or so because there's actually something more important that I have to help out with.

You see, Uncle Ghee has a pottery studio and he's in the process of opening up a second pottery studio which will also double up as a craft centre at the same time. The opening is next Wednesday and they've still got a million and one things that they need to do before the opening. So, in the mean time, I'll be helping out with that first.

I dropped by their pottery cafe yesterday at Huntingdon Street in the city centre and it was a pretty neat place I tell, ya.

Well, what customers basically do here is to pick their choice of pottery and then paint it the way they want it with the paint and brushes provided, after which Uncle Ghee will glaze and fire the pottery for them to be the finished product. Funky Pots is also a member of the ceramic guild here.

They've even got a nice little corner for the cafe.

That's Laura, ermm...or was it Lauren o_O sorry!...behind the counter.

Shaunee making faces while making her sandwich for breakfast.

What spark my interest is the two large kiln and one small kiln he has got at the back of his studio. Didn't manage to snap a picture of the kilns cuz it was too cluttered at the back.

*Grins* Wanted to play around in his studio a bit but this doesn't seem to be the right time since they're so busy at the moment. So, I'll just wait around for a while until everything settles. =)

They even do those glass fusion thingy with dichroic glass to make pendants and stuffs. Now, THAT is definitely something I'll be looking forward to blog about. =D

Corra: You have no idea how much I wanted to reply with "April's Fool!", just for the kick of it.... LOL.... =P but unfortunately, I can't cuz I have indeed relocated to the UK now. Well, this is only a temporary location. I'll be back 6 months later. So, you could probably take it as my super long holiday rather than relocation. ;)

Frances: Thanks for dropping by! :) Yep, will definitely be updating the blog as usual. :)
